don’t really consider this a news flash. I’m not usually on the cutting edge of
technology or a first adopter, but this describes me pretty well. I’ve used
Amazon for books probably 10:1 over brick and mortar stores over the last ten
years. Apparently one in three items of clothing, furniture and household
appliances are now bought over the internet. One reason is apps like Red Laser that allow you to scan a bar code in a
store and immediately know who has the item at the best price. I’ve used it to
great effect over the past few years. More often than not retailers will match
may not like certain industries, but I don’t think it is the FDIC’s or the
Justice Department’s business to decide unilaterally that they need to try and shut down
legally operated businesses through pressuring banks to close their accounts.
