As if the
situation in Ferguson isn’t bad enough, Al Sharpton is there to lend his usual level headed
conciliatory demeanor. Easy way to fix that is to just remove the TV cameras.
Earth First. We’ll Drill The Rest Of The Universe Later. Apparently U.S. producers intend to drill
on regardless of what OPEC decides. We’re in the strongest position since OPEC
began flexing their muscles in the early 70’s. This is a theme we’ve been
commenting on for some time and it continues to unfold. Thursday’s OPEC meeting
could be acrimonious depending on what happens. Countries like Venezuela, who
have squandered their birthrights, are in dire need of revenue.
we’ve commented on several times, this move toward independence and actually
exporting crude and natural gas is also a geopolitical power play. The potential for Europeans to import
natural gas and perhaps even oil will lessen Russia’s ability to play tough
guy. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that OPEC may not survive the
pressure. Great factoid – The largest natural gas reserves are the United
States, followed by Russia, followed by Pennsylvania. LOL. Read the whole
